The Utah Jazz are coming off a NBA Playoff year. The Jazz ended the season 51-31 and 5th in the NBA Western Conference. The Jazz eventually lost to the Golden State Warriors in the conference semi-finals. The Utah Jazz are looking to improve on that playoff record for the 2017-18 NBA season.
Founded in 1974 as the New Orleans Jazz the franchise moved to Utah in 1979. The Jazz compete in the league’s Western Conference Northwest Division against rivals like the Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Portland Trail Blazers, and Minnesota Timberwolves. Since 1991, the team has played its home games at Vivint Smart Home Arena.
The Jazz have yet to win a NBA Championship but won two divisional titles in the mid 90’s under the leadership of Jerry Sloan, Karl Malone, and John Stockton. The Jazz have had numerous NBA stars come through the program over the years like Pete Maravich, Mark Eaton, and “Hot” Rod Huntley.
