Nicks began singing at an early age and began songwriting in her teens. In high school she was a member of a band named Fritz which is where she met future bandmate, Lindsay Buckingham. They released an album that failed however while out playing shows a band by the name of Fleetwood Mac took notice.

Soon after joining Fleetwood Mac (in 1975) the popularity of the band took off with the release of their self-entitled album. The album contained the hit singles, “Over My Head,” “Rhiannon” and “Say You Love Me.”
