After years of massive stadium productions, U2 stripped things back for a short set in front of an estimated 300 people Saturday night (1/11) in Beverly Hills at Sean Penn’s Help Haiti Home benefit event, raising money for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization.
Band members Bono and Edge took the stage early on, accompanying Haitian singer Anaelle Jean-Pierre on a rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” on acoustic guitar and vocals.
The full band later took the stage for a 3-song set, which, based on Instagram snippets, appears to have included “I Will Follow,” “Desire” and “Vertigo.” A stick-up video of various Instagram videos appears below. Read more here.
